For example, the 2008 NPC put into practice the strategy of the 17th National Party Congress of the Communist Party of China. According to arrangements of the 17th NPC, the newly-elected Politburo Standing Committee members (Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, He Guoqiang and Zhou Yongkang) and Politburo Committee members (Wang Gang, Wang Qishan, Liu Yandong, Lu Yuanchao, Wang Yang, Zhang Gaoli, Xu Caihou and Bo Xilai) have to take up the relevant leadership posts.
